Good Day, Everyone,
Welcome to the inaugural post from the National Veterans Parade Foundation!
There has never been a National Parade before to honor the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. Take a moment to let that sink in. The sacrifices and dedication that these Americans have given us to preserve and protect the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic, as evidenced by their Oath of Service, will finally be honored with this small token of our appreciation.
A parade on Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC, is the only proper venue, and Veterans Day Weekend is the proper time and place for such recognition.
Starting on Saturday, November 11th, at 11:00 am (the 11th month, 11th day, 11th hour), in honor of the signing of the WWI Armistice that marked the end of the “War to End All Wars,” we are planning a National Field Show on the National Mall, accompanied by a Ceremony and Honor Guard. Marching Bands will have the opportunity to showcase their field show performances, and the public is welcome to enjoy the sounds and sights between the Washington Monument and the WWII Memorial.
The Parade will commence on Sunday, November 12th, 2023, at noon on 7th Street and Constitution Avenue, proceeding past the National Archives. Veterans Groups, Marching Bands, and Floats will play their part in representing our country and paying tribute to our Veterans.
In times like these, we believe that supporting our Military Veterans is an essential step. You may wonder who we are. We are a group of patriotic Americans who recognize that establishing a non-profit foundation in support of Veteran causes can serve as a platform for other worthy Veteran-based initiatives to gain national recognition for their tireless efforts. High School and Military marching bands, Veteran and Veteran-supporting organizations, historic military vehicles, and Veterans themselves will be welcomed to participate. Follow the links for more information on how you can take part.
We acknowledge the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, the Mayor’s Special Event Task Force, and the many Veterans who serve in the District and share our mission. They have provided us with the necessary support to ensure the success of this endeavor. We also extend our gratitude to our earliest supporters for their assistance. We will post their links on our site as we continue our journey.
We understand that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Therefore, our efforts are not only focused on producing an annual world-class Parade but also on uniting private citizens and corporate as well as individual communities. Together, we can participate and contribute to the financial commitments required to make this event a reality in honor of our Veterans.
In the future, we will have posts acknowledging those who are participating in the Parade and Field Show events. We eagerly anticipate your support!
With Warm Regards,
Francis Ventura
